Environmental Assessment
Phase II Gymnasium Project
Mooretown Rancheria, Oroville, California
Burleson was awarded a contract from the Mooretown Rancheria for the development of an Environmental Assessment (EA) for Phase II of the gymnasium construction project. Burleson met with representatives of the Mooretown Rancheria and determined the scope for the project. Burleson staff completed a site visit and contacted the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to obtain checklists for completion of the EA. Task orders included:
Research and Compilation of Existing Environmental Data
Interaction with Regulatory agencies (USFWS, CDFG, and SHPO)
Completion of Site Visit Verification of Biological Species Present
Verification of Cultural Resource Information
Interaction with Past Contractors with Inherent Knowledge of the Site (Archaeological Information)
Completion of the Draft EA
Response to Public Comments
Completion of the Final EA
Project Management (Scheduling and Tracking)
Burleson contacted the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and California Department of Fish and Game (CDFG) to identify endangered or threatened species at the site. Burleson also retained an archaeologist to obtain cultural resource information from State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO). At the time of the site visit, Burleson assessed the area to determine if any hazardous material or waste operations were being conducted within ¼ mile of the site that could have impacts.
Burleson completed the Draft EA and notice for public comments. The notice was published in local papers and Burleson responded to public comments and completed the Final EA. Burleson also completed budget tracking and provided status reports to the project manager and Tribal Administrator. The project was completed on schedule and within budget.
