As a first generation Mexican-American my passion for nature and plants started with my father taking me to work with him landscaping. He taught me which plants were weeds to pull and how to prune roses and ornamental plants. This engendered in me a hard work ethic, and an appreciation and love of nature. While abroad in Costa Rica I was involved in restoration efforts where I realized that I could have a greater impact on the preservation of wildlife through restoration. My high affinity for plants and animals motivates me to work hard in all aspects of restoration from planning, developing, monitoring, and maintaining suitable habitat for them to flourish.
